Three versions available here. The first includes the left hand harmonies. The second includes the melody with the bass clef measures left blank. The third version is for beginners who are a little further along. It is a fun project to help them through the process of harmonizing the melody so I have included “options” for harmonizing down below the song.
I tend to teach very “visually” especially when it comes to the left hand. My students learn to recognize the shapes of particular intervals (I nickname the open 5th “the big guys” and the 2nd “next door neighbors”, 3rds “the upstairs neighbors,” etc.) For harmonizing on a piece like this I ask them to “test out” the interval patterns we use in their other songs and they usually catch on pretty quickly as to which intervals sound appropriate against particular melody notes.
